“I had been photographing around the Carn Brea area for about a year or so and I began to notice that the Bassett Monument kept creeping its way into the images.

After putting all of the photographs together I thought there was something mildly humorous and equally boring about it all. I decided to go out to some incredibly dull places and photograph them, always including the monument somewhere in the frame.

I found myself in graveyards, industrial estates, new builds, under the motorway, supermarket car parks, the list goes on.”
